Students perform and study varied Marimba compositions with an emphasis on the music of Zimbabwe where this style of marimba was developed. Additionally, students learn basic percussion technique, fundamental musical skills, theory, improvisation, and notation. The class performs as an ensemble throughout the year. No musical experience is required.
