Soundtrap

Soundtrap is an online music production program that is great for recording and/or editing podcasts and other audio material.

Setting up a free account:

• Go to Soundtrap's "Pricing" page here: https://www.soundtrap.com/pricing

• Scroll down to find the Free plan and hit the Signup! button

• You can sign up with your school Google account, Facebook or a personal email. Google is probably easiest.

  • If you had an educational account in the past that is now disabled, you might try creating an account linked to your personal email address.

• The free plan is all you need to record and edit podcasts.

• Soundtrap will try to get you to sign up for its paid plans or offer you a "1 month free trial". Don't do it!

  • When this pop up appears, close it with the X in the upper right.

• Do not hit the "TRY 1-MONTH FREE TRIAL" button.

Recording Steps

• Select your input source (microphone). 

• Perform the "Volume Check"

• Use headphones if possible.

• Turn down volume on the track you are recording while you are recording.​

• Record Enable (R)

• Hit Record.

• Turn volume back up to hear back your recording.

• SAVE!
